Studio Policies
For each lesson:
Please arrive on time for your lesson, neither early nor late, as I may have students before or after your scheduled appointment time.
Please come prepared with your lesson materials, including your book(s), sheet music (if applicable), any flashcards/other learning materials, and practice log.
Payment:
Payment is due one week in advance. Payment for the following week will be due at the beginning of each lesson. I accept cash, Venmo, and PayPal.
In the event you need to cancel an appointment:
I reserve your lesson spot each week for you. If you are unable to make an appointment, notice is required 24 hours before our scheduled lesson in order to apply that lesson's fee toward the following week. Any missed appointments without 24-hour notice will forfeit the lesson fee.
In the case of illness or unexpected circumstances, notice must be provided before 8:00am the day of the lesson. Failure to provide notice by this time will be considered a missed appointment and will forfeit the lesson fee.
In the event of a canceled lesson, I am happy to schedule a make-up lesson the same week if schedules permit. Otherwise, your lesson fee may be applied to the following week's lesson (as long as appropriate notice was provided).
In the event of teacher absence or cancellation, a make-up lesson will be scheduled the same week if schedules permit; otherwise, student's lesson fee will be applied to the following week's lesson.
Should you wish to discontinue lessons, one week advance notice is required. Notice shall be provided before or at the beginning of the lesson prior to the week that the student intends to discontinue lessons. If less than one week's notice is given, student will forfeit the lesson fee paid for the following week.
For very young students, I ask that parents please stay for the duration of the 30-minute lesson. Feel free to watch the lesson, bring something to do, or just zone out. Sometimes I have a jigsaw puzzle in progress that parents enjoy working on to pass the time.
Regarding siblings:
Siblings are welcome! If you choose to bring other children, I ask that you keep them from distracting your student during the lesson and supervised at all times. If you intend to bring siblings, talk with me. I have a few kid-friendly options for keeping them entertained during the lesson (we have kids too!).
